Dr. Kim was born in South Korea and moved to Massachusetts at age 7. She attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her internship and residency were completed at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University in New York City. She also completed a fellowship at University of California San Francisco in minimally-invasive and bariatric surgery. She joined First Surgical Consultants in 2007. Dr. Kim specializes in laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery in addition to all types of general surgery. She speaks conversational Korean.
Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with her family in Tahoe.
Dr. Kim has privileges at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland and Berkeley, St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, Eden Hospital in Castro Valley, and San Ramon Regional Medical Center in San Ramon, as well as the Surgery Center of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland and the San Leandro Surgery Center in San Leandro, two outpatient surgery centers.
