About

Mehra Hosseini M.D. grew up in the Bay Area. Dr. Hosseini graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UC-Santa Cruz with Honors in Biology and Psychology. He received his M.D. from New York Medical College and went on to UC-Davis for Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship. Dr. Hosseini has published articles in the American Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Hosseini holds memberships in the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is Board certified and has been practicing gastroenterology, hepatology since 1999. Mehra Hosseini’s gastroenterology interests include inflammatory bowel disease & colon cancer. He has done over 20,000 procedures with patient safety and comfort in mind. Dr. Hosseini is Co-Medical Director of the Walnut Creek Endoscopy & Surgery Center & previously was Medical Director of the East Bay Endoscopy & Surgery Center. He is on staff at Alta Bates Hospital, John Muir Hospital & San Ramon Regional Hospital. Dr. Hosseini was managing partner of Gastroenterology Associates of the East Bay (GATE) for over ten years.

Dr. Hosseini was a Board member of California Integrated Physician Practice Association (CIPPA) whose core mission is to promote high quality, cost efficient, integrated care delivered by independent medical practices in California. Dr. Hosseini is involved with the Berkeley community donating his time to "Walk-with-a-Doc" uniting the community towards health and wellness. He is an avid soccer player and skier, always searching for the best snow, who enjoys skiing with the family. Dr. Hosseini who speaks Farsi and Spanish is dedicated to the well being and comfort of his patients. He has been featured in Oakland Magazine as part of a Best Doctors, Best Practices article. Dr. Hosseini also participates in Operation Access which makes its possible to for uninsured and underserved people to receive specialty care free of charge through a medical volunteer network in the Bay Area.
